1. Our Commitment
At Mark, we believe your highlights, notes, and browsing habits are sacred. Our "Sanctuary" design philosophy extends to your data: we only collect what is strictly necessary to provide the service and never sell your personal information.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you sign in via Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture to create your account.
Highlight Data: We store the text you highlight, any notes you add, the URL of the page, and the timestamp. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Local Mode: If you use "Local Mode," no highlight data is sent to our servers. Your data stays entirely on your device.
3. How We Use Data
- To synchronize your highlights across your devices.
- To provide the "Resurface" feature (spaced repetition).
- To improve the performance and reliability of the service.
4. Data Security
We use Supabase for secure data storage and authentication. We implement industry-standard Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure that only you can access your highlights.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to access, export, or delete your data at any time. Features for exporting your library to JSON or Markdown are built directly into the extension and web dashboard. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at privacy@mark-sanctuary.com.
